Wang Siqi

Erhu

Wang Siqi began to learn Erhu performance at the age of 4. She followed Professor Zhu Jiangbo to learn erhu performance at the age of 7. During this period, she received careful instruction from Mr. YeQiang and Ms. LiuHong.

In 2010, she was admitted to the High School Attached to the China Conservatory of Music with honours. She studied Banhu under the tutelage of Professor Shen Cheng, a famous Banhu performer, educator and doctoral tutor at the China Conservatory of Music. During school, she followed the China Youth Chinese Orchestra and China Youth String Orchestra to Malaysia, Los Angeles, San Francisco and other places for artistic exchanges, and served as the chief Gaohu and Banhu soloist.

In 2017, she was admitted to the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore and studied Erhu with Mr. Sunny Wong. From 2018 to 2020, she was the concert master of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Chinese Orchestra, and followed the school to visit Taiwan for artistic exchange.

In 2018, she was admitted to the Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra as an Erhu II musician.

In 2019, she visited China with the Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra and toured Guangzhou, Shanghai and Suzhou.
