A talented and hardworking musician, YU MAN started learning the pipa from a young tender age and subsequently went on to major in Pipa (2010-2014) at the Shenyang National Art School, as well as achieve a Diploma in Music Performance (2014-2017) at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
An avid performer, Yu Man has performed as a soloist on multiple platforms, including with the Singapore Chinese Youth Orchestra and Singapore Chinese Orchestra (2015 and 2016). She has also performed a number of times as the pipa principal - as well as on the zhongruan and daruan - with the NAFA Chinese Chamber Ensemble, in the Singapore Youth Chinese Orchestra, as well as at various events.
She has also received a host of accolades, such as the Second prize at the 5th Yin He Zhi Xing Art Competition (2012), the Solo award at the 2nd Liaoning Province Pipa Competition (2013), the First prize at the Singapore National Chinese Music Competititon (Open Category) (2014) as well as the Silver award and Overseas Honorable Mention award at the Huayue Bei International Chinese Instrument Competition (Professional Group) (2016).
Yu Man also works as a pipa teacher in various schools, including Eason Music.
