A talented musician, ZHOU RUOYING majored in the guzheng at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music Accessorial Middle School (2006-2012), then under the tutelage of Lu Yan. Subsequently, she decided to pursue further studies in Singapore and graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts’ Diploma in Music Performance programme (2013-2016), under the tutelage of Yin Qun.
Possessing rich performing experience, Ruoying regularly performs as a guzheng and percussion musician with the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Chinese Chamber Ensemble, as well as the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Guzheng Ensemble. In her free time, she also freelances as a performer for various events.
As a dedicated educator, Ruoying has also taught at various schools, such as the Xiao Hong Guzheng School, as well as the Innoworld Arts School.
To date, Ruoying has also achieved a sizable number of accolades, including the 3rd South Korea International Children’s Art Festival’s Silver Award (2008), the Russian Art Festival Excellence Award (2009), the 10th Dandelion Art Competition’s Gold Award (2010), the 1st ‘Tian Yun’ Guzheng Competition’s Silver Award (2012), and the Singapore National Chinese Music Competition’s Silver Award (2014) as part of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Guzheng Ensemble.
